Our
Goal:
The management and staff of the Electrical and Mechanical
Services Department are committed to building a better environment
through an ongoing environment conservation, protection and
improvement programme.

take every reasonable and practicable measure to
conserve resources, minimise the generation of waste
and prevent pollution in each and everyone of our
business operation processes.
- To
comply with green legislation as the baseline of
our operations and to ensure that all staff behave
accordingly.
- To
encourage our contractors and their staff to be
equally friendly to the environment.
- To
ensure that our environment management system conforms
to internationally recognized ISO 14001 standards.
Our
Achievements:
Hand-in-hand with our commitment to quality, we believe that
quality services must in turn contribute to quality of life
for everyone in Hong Kong. A major factor in ensuring this
quality of life is the need to conserve and sustain a green
environment. Building on our work in Indoor Air Quality, the
environmental audits conducted on behalf of the government
as well as the widespread activities of our energy efficiency
office, we have established an Environmental Management System
providing a planned, integrated and focused approach in protecting,
conserving and improving the environment as we carry out our
activities. With the system in place, we received internationally
acclaimed ISO 14001 certification in 13 of our operational
areas, followed by corporate certification, the first organisation
in Hong Kong to receive this honour, at the end of 2000. |
