The EMSD Engineering Graduate Training Scheme has been in operation for more than 30 years to provide professional engineering training for engineering degree graduates to qualify as assistant engineers, and eventually attain the necessary qualifications as professional engineers after acquiring sufficient experience. The scheme has successfully trained more than 500 engineering professionals who are now engineers and/or at management level in EMSD, serving the public of Hong Kong.
DisciplinesBuilding Services, Electrical, Electronics, Information, Mechanical and Biomedical Training SchemeDuring the two-year training period, engineering graduates rotate to different divisions of EMSD and other government departments, e.g., the Architectural Services Department, Drainage Services Department, Police Force, Department of Health etc. to receive in-service training in their related disciplines, and get an all-round exposure to engineering projects and facilities in both government and the public sector. The EMSD Engineering Graduate Training Scheme is recognized by the Graduate Scheme “A” Training offered by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Career ProspectEngineering graduates may apply for the position of assistant engineer at EMSD after completion of training. They may be promoted to engineer after acquiring three to five years’ experience and obtaining HKIE corporate membership or equivalent. |

How to applyApplication forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are available at any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. They may also be downloaded from the website of the Civil Service Bureau (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application forms should be submitted on or before the deadline to the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department.
