On an industry level, an active programme of talks, seminars and participation in both local and international conferences help to promote both the safety message and spread the word with regard to new developments and safety techniques in a number of our activities. Within the community, numerous talks and seminars are given regularly to the general public, including community organisations and owners of buildings in Hong Kong, to promote E&M safety and to generate awareness of the various statutory requirements under the Safety Ordinances.

Electrical and Mechanical Safety & Energy Efficiency - Engineering a Safe and Low-carbon Environment

On 24 and 25 January 2011, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) organized the Symposium on Electrical and Mechanical Safety & Energy Efficiency, under the theme "Engineering a Safe and Low-carbon Environment ". Around thirty overseas, mainland and local experts including government officials, consultants, academia and NGOs were invited to share their valuable experience for the engineering of a safe and low-carbon environment.
