Energy Management

One of the mandates of EEO is to promote best practices in energy management to both the public and private sectors. We recommend organisations to start with an energy audit, which is a review of how and where energy is consumed in the organisation. Energy audits help identify Energy Management Opportunities where savings of energy and money can be made.

Energy Audits

Guidelines on Energy Audit Our Energy Audit Programme started in 1994. The energy audits we have conducted cover all major government buildings. A set of energy audit guidelines was published, and then enriched in 2007, for the benefit of property owners and property management companies to conduct energy audit.

The booklet "Guidelines on Energy Audit" [PDF format (2.12MB)] provides the building users/building owners/building management, operation and maintenance personnel with comprehensive information on how to conduct energy audit, including auditing procedures, selecting energy management opportunities, writing audit reports and auditing skills required.

Please click here to view the "Guidelines on Energy Audit (2007 Edition)".

Energy Efficiency and Conservation for Buildings

The booklet "Energy Efficiency and Conservation for Buildings" [PDF format (5MB)] provides comprehensive guidelines on energy efficiency and conservation. It also covers a wide range of issues, including key persons in building energy efficiency and conservation, suggestions on building energy efficiency and conservation and other sources of information. It is designed to enable developers/architects/building managers/building services engineers/end-users to successfully conserve the energy used in buildings in Hong Kong, for the health and well-being of us all.
