The "Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards" competition is organised by the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department with the objectives to encourage the private sector to conserve energy as well as to adopt the best practices in the efficient use of energy.

We hope that not only the participants will benefit from this competition, the general public will also gain a better understanding of the process and technicality behind achieving energy saving results. This "Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards" competition is supported by the CLP Power Hong Kong Limited and the Hongkong Electric Company Limited.

The first ¡§Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards¡¨ competition was held between 2004 and 2005. The competition, which lasted for 12 months, attracted some 230 entries from the private sector.? The competition was divided into two main categories, i.e. ¡§Commercial and Residential Buildings¡¨ and ¡§Schools¡¨.? The Awards Presentation Ceremony of the competition was held in May 2006.?
