 Millions of citizen and tourist come to the theme parks or family amusement centres for fun and entertainment every year. In this regard, EMSD is responsible for the enforcement of the Amusement Rides (Safety) Ordinance. In short, the safety of the public is ensured by a close scrutiny of the design of amusement rides, a well established licensing mechanism and continuous monitoring of the operation and maintenance of these rides. Besides, we will promote safety practices and the safe use of amusement rides through public education. Presently, we are working actively on the amusement rides included in the Ocean Park Redevelopment Project, the on-going expansion of the Hong Kong Disneyland and those seasonal large scale carnivals in order to provide a safe environment for the public to enjoy the use of amusement rides.
