Within 7 days beginning on the date an appeal is lodged with the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services (Director) under section 6(5), 11C(4) or 15 of the Lifts and Escalators (Safety) Ordinance (Chapter 327), the Director must give notice in writing to the Secretary of the appeal. |

Within the period of 21 days beginning on the date a notice is received by him, the Secretary must appoint an appeal board and refer the appeal to that board for inquiry.

The appeal board is to consist of 4 members, including at least one member from each category, from the appeal board panel. |

The members of the appeal board must elect a chairman from among themselves and the chairman is to determine the procedure of the appeal board. |

Appeal board will only be formed if there is such a need; otherwise, there is no meeting. (Note: No appeal board has been appointed since the latest establishment of the appeal board panel as no appeal mentioned in paragraphs 2.1 & 2.2 above has been received.) |
