Notice to Prohibit
the Supply of Unsafe Electrical Product
Pursuant to Section 25 (1) of the Electricity
Ordinance Cap. 406, it is hereby notified to prohibit the
supply of the following unsafe electrical product:
Date of Prohibition: 16 April 1999
Product name: Box fan
Brand name: Ying Zuan
Model no.: KYT-30
Name of manufacturer: 廣東南海市鷹鑽家用電器廠
Nature of problem / risk identified:
The concerned electrical product failed to
comply with the essential safety requirements 2(a) in Schedule
1 of the Electrical Products (Safety) Regulation, as it does
not provide adequate protection against access to live parts
and does not have sufficient electric strength. It may cause
electric shock.
Recommendation / Advice on supply of the product:
All suppliers shall not supply this unsafe
electrical product.
Special features:
The concerned electrical product is a box
fan, with the control switches at the front top right hand
corner (as viewed at the front) and an eagle like logo on
the front top left hand corner (as viewed at the front, see
photograph below). The label on the electrical product contains
the following information: 鷹鑽牌, 型:
KYT-30, 規格: 300mm, , 額定電壓:
220V~ , 額定頻率:50Hz, 輸入總功率:
56W, 廣東南海市鷹鑽家用電器廠.
