Ngong Ping 360, Cause of Suspension of Service on 11 April 2008
The investigation carried out by the operating company revealed that the cause of the service suspension on 11 April 2008 was the dislodgement of driving belts at one of the belt/pulley assemblies at the Nei Lak Shan Angle Station. Please click here for further details of the investigation.

Voluntary Registration Scheme for Vehicle Mechanics
With a view to enhancing the standard of the local vehicle maintenance trade, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department is implementing a voluntary registration scheme for vehicle mechanics. Starting from 4 January 2007, vehicle mechanics in possession of necessary qualification and/or experience may apply through this Scheme for becoming registered vehicle mechanics so that their qualification and competence will gain recognition.

Voluntary Registration Scheme for Vehicle Mechanics Seminar
In order to facilitate the vehicle maintenance trade, in particular the in-service vehicle mechanics, to understand details of the voluntary registration scheme for vehicle mechanics and to encourage active participation of members of the trade to the scheme, the Vehicle Maintenance Technical Advisory Committee in association with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will conduct four seminars. Seminar on Safety at Lift Works and Escalator Works
EMSD, the Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Labour Department, the Lift and Escalator Contractors Association, the Registered Elevator and Escalator Contractors Association Ltd., the Hong Kong General Union of Lift and Escalator Employees and the Vocational Training Council have jointly organised a seminar on safety at lift works and escalator works to be held on 27 October 2005 at the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.
