The EMSD has been running the "Technician Training Scheme" since 1955, dedicated to training outstanding electrical and mechanical talents for society and passing on the spirit of craftsmanship. The Scheme aims to recruit Technician Trainee I and Technician Trainee II with 2-year and 3-year programs, covering 7 trade disciplines. The Scheme is recruiting Technician Trainee I and Technician Trainee II, offering a total of four positions and divided into two-year and three-year programs.
The program covers seven trade disciplines and provides professional training by mentors, enabling students to acquire specialized skills. They will be able to provide operation, maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation services for various electrical and mechanical system to government departments and public organizations.
The future of the electrical and mechanical industry is promising, and the EMSD provides a clear career ladder. After completing the Technician Training Scheme, graduates can apply for internal recruitment to become Technician I and Technician II. From there, they can further advance to higher positions such as Technician, Work Supervisor, Inspectors, Chief Technical Officer/ Chief Electronics Inspector, etc.
