How Does the LPG Mosquito Trap do its job?

The LPG mosquito trap oxidizes LPG by catalytic action and produces carbon dioxide which resembles the gas exhaled by humans in terms of temperature and humidity in order to attract insects. Some mosquitoes caught in the LPG mosquito trap are stuck by stickers on the trap surface while others are sucked into a net by its vacuum chamber.

What are the safety precautions to be taken?

• Gas fittings connected to LPG mosquito traps (such as cylinder, regulator, flexible tubing) are regulated by the Gas Safety Ordinance (Cap 51). Only registered gas installers employed by registered gas contractors may install and maintain the gas fittings.
• Users shall check and ensure that there is no gas leaking from the LPG mosquito trap before use.
• LPG mosquito traps may only be used in well-ventilated, outdoor places.
• Smoking is not allowed and the vicinity of an LPG cylinder must be free of flames and sundries.
• When the LPG mosquito trap is not in use, the regulator must be detached and the cylinder stored separately.
