| Description | It is intended to invite tenders in year 2010/2011 for the design-build-operate a District Cooling System (Phase II Works) at Kai Tak Development. The tenders to be invited will be covered by the Agreement on Government Procurement of the World Trade Organisation. The scope of works of the contract is to design-build-operate a District Cooling System together with associated building, civil, building services, drainage and external works at Kai Tak Development. The total cooling capacity of the system is approximately 284MW. The proposed contract period is 8 years. |
| Contractors Invited to Tender | Applicants who are on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works, Air-conditioning Category Group II (Confirmed) or the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works under the category of Buildings Group C (Confirmed) or the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works under the category of Roads and Drainage Group C (Confirmed), have completed at least one contract for the construction and design of District Cooling System with a contract sum of not less than HK$350 million in Hong Kong or any place outside Hong Kong, in the past 10 years counting from and including the original tender closing date (i.e. between 6 November 2000 and 5 November 2010, only such contracts with substantial completion date falling within the above stated period will be considered); and have completed at least one contract for the operation and maintenance of District Cooling System Facilities with a contract sum of not less than HK$10 million in Hong Kong or any place outside Hong Kong, in the past 10 years counting from and including the original tender closing date (i.e. between 6 November 2000 and 5 November 2010, only such contracts with substantial completion date falling within the above stated period will be considered) are invited for tender. Applications from joint ventures will also be considered. |

| Closing Date/Time | 12:00 noon, Friday, 5 November 2010 In the event a typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted or a black rainstorm warning signal is issued between 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon on the closing date for receipt of tender, then the closing time will be postponed to 12.00 noon on the first working day after the typhoon signal No. 8 is lowered or the black rainstorm warning signal has ceased to be in effect. |

| Submission of Tender | Completed tender submission shall be addressed to Chairman, Central Tender Board and placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located in the lift lobby on the Lower Ground Floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road (at its junction with Garden Road), Hong Kong before 5 November 2010 (Friday);12:00 noon. Tender submission shall be prepared in English. Late applications will not be accepted. |
