The scope of works for this contract includes comprehensive maintenance, examination and testing of lifting appliances and lifting gear for sewage treatment facilities in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and Outlying Islands. The works are scheduled to commence in October 2015 for completion in March 2019.

Selective tendering is adopted. Contractors on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of "Survey of Lifting Appliances and Lifting Gear" or the category of "Mechanical Handling and Lifting Installation" or joint ventures with participation of local and/or overseas contractors with the lead participant or the major shareholder being on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of "Survey of Lifting Appliances and Lifting Gear" or the category of "Mechanical Handling and Lifting Installation" who also meet the qualifications and conditions for participation stipulated in the tender documents are invited to tender.

Contractors not yet on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of "Survey of Lifting Appliances and Lifting Gear" or the category of "Mechanical Handling and Lifting Installation" may still submit a tender, provided they submit a request for participation together with a duly completed application for inclusion in the above-mentioned approved list/category by 23 July 2015 to Mr. MOK Chun-wing, Transport, Security and Central Services Division, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, 6/F, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong, meet the qualifications and conditions for participation, and their application for inclusion is duly approved on or before the tender closing date.
