Description | The scope of works for this contract includes comprehensive maintenance of UPS systems at various venues of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The works are scheduled to commence in August 2016 for completion in August 2019. |

Contractors Invited to Tender | Selective tendering is adopted. Contractors on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of “Uninterruptible Power Supply Installation”, or joint ventures with participation of local and/or overseas contractors with the lead participant or the major shareholder being on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of “Uninterruptible Power Supply Installation”, who also meet the following requirements and other conditions for participation stipulated in the tender documents are invited to tender: (i) Experience Requirement The tenderer shall have completed maintenance contracts for UPS systems with a total aggregate contract value of not less than HK$5 million within the 5-year period immediately preceding the tender closing date specified in the Tender Notice regardless of any subsequent extension. In the case of a joint venture submission, only the lead participant or major shareholder is required to meet this experience requirement. (ii) Minimum Requirements on Technical Capabilities and Supports The tenderer shall provide documentary evidences on its capability of performing comprehensive maintenance on at least one out of five brands of UPS systems with details set out in the tender documents. In the case of a joint venture submission, the participants/shareholders of the joint venture can collectively satisfy the stipulated minimum requirement of this part. (iii) The Tenderer’s Status on the Approved List The tenderer or the lead participant/major shareholder of the joint venture must be on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of “Uninterruptible Power Supply Installation”. Contractors not yet on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of “Uninterruptible Power Supply Installation” may also submit a tender if they submit a request for participation together with a duly completed application for inclusion in the above-mentioned approved list/category by 23 February 2016 to Mr. Michael P.M. POON, Transport, Security and Central Services Division, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, 6/F, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong, meet the qualifications and conditions for participation, and their application for inclusion is duly approved on or before the tender closing date. Closing Date/Time | 12:00 noon on 11 March 2016 (Friday) If a black rainstorm warning signal or tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 is in effect at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Friday, 11 March 2016, the tender closing time will be postponed to 12:00 noon on the first working day after the black rainstorm warning signal has ceased to be in effect or the tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 is lowered. |

Submission of Tender | Sealed tenders in triplicate must be clearly marked with the tender reference and the subject of the tender on the outside of the envelope (but should not bear any indication which may relate the tender to the tenderer) addressed to the Chairman, Public Works Tender Board, and placed in the Public Works Tender Box situated in Room 4128f, 41/F, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong. Late tenders will not be accepted. |
