The Works shall include the inspection, examination, testing, adjustment, fully comprehensive servicing and maintenance of existing Burglar Alarm and Security Installations in Buildings and other Properties as listed in the Schedule of Rates and the provision of other works and services as required by the Contract.    The contract is scheduled to commence in 1 February 2016 and complete on 31 January 2019.

Selective tendering is adopted. Contractors on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of Burglar Alarm and Security Installation, or joint ventures with participation of local and/or overseas contractors with the lead participant or the major shareholder being on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of Burglar Alarm and Security Installation, who also meet the following qualifications and other conditions for participation stipulated in the tender documents are invited to tender:-

(A) The tenderer shall have completed maintenance contracts for security systems with a total aggregate contract value of not less than HK$7.0 million within the 5-year period immediately preceding the tender closing date specified in the Letter of Invitation to Tender regardless of any subsequent extension. In the case of a joint venture, only the lead participant or major shareholder is required to meet this minimum experience requirement; and

(B) The tenderer or the lead participant/major shareholder of the joint venture must be on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of Burglar Alarm and Security Installation.

Contractors not yet on the List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works under the category of Burglar Alarm and Security Installation may still submit a tender, provided they submit a request for participation together with a duly completed application for inclusion in the above-mentioned approved list/category by 2 November 2015 to the Transport, Security and Central Services Division, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, 6/F, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong, meet the qualifications and conditions for participation, and their application for inclusion is duly approved on or before the tender closing date. Contractors will be liable to have their names removed from the list of approved contractors if they fail or refuse to implement an accepted tender.
