LED Lantern Design Competition

The LED Lamp Lantern Design Competition jointly-organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, CIE (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA), Caritas Bianchi College of Careers, Hong Kong Design Institute, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, was held in 2020.

The Competition aimed to promote household LED lamps usage, educate the public about advantages of LED lamps and increase public awareness on selection of LED lamps with Voluntary Energy Efficiency Label during light bulb procurement. The competition required participant to submit Design Proposal of LED lantern and produce at later stage a 1:1 mock-up model based on the submitted Design Proposal.

After review by the judging panel, all winners and outstanding entries have been selected. The awards presentation ceremony was held in June 2021 successfully. After the competition, the outstanding entries were exhibited at different venues.
