In collaboration with the Hong Kong and Kowloon Electrical Engineering & Appliances Trade Worker's Union and the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors' Association, EMSD organised a seminar on disciplinary, periodic testing, registration application and renewal matters on 23.11.2001 at the Academic Community Hall. The seminar aimed at improving the standard of the registered electrical contractors/workers in the trade.
The presentations given in the seminar provided summaries on the experience gained by EMSD in handling disciplinary cases since the enactment of the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations in 1992, and the contraventions commonly found in disciplinary cases. Understanding of statutory requirements for electrical contractors/workers was also enhanced through discussions on the periodic inspection of fixed electrical installations and matters on electrical worker registration application and renewal.
