In collaboration with the Hong Kong and Kowloon Electrical Engineering & Appliances Trade Worker's Union and the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors' Association, EMSD organised a seminar on subjects relating to the revision of the Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations, the periodic inspection of fixed electrical installations and on the Electrical Products (Safety) Regulation on 26.11.2002 at the Jockey Club Auditorium of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The seminar aimed at providing updated information and improving the standard of the trade.
In the seminar, EMSD provided summaries on the revision of the Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations and progress of the work. In addition, technical issues on the periodic inspection of fixed electrical installations were presented to the audiences for enhancing their understanding on the statutory requirements. The safety standards and statutory requirements for household electrical products were also explained at the seminar to enrich the audiences' knowledge.
