Municipal Services is another key business area of EMSTF. This area generated a business turnover of $336M last year (1.8.96 - 31.3.97). Our customers in this category include Urban Services Department, Regional Services Department, Civil Aviation Department, Post Office, Marine Department and Government Flying Services.

As with the Health Services, we help these customers to operate and maintain a wide range of engineering equipment at 17 cultural venues, 130 sports grounds,130 markets, the Hong Kong International Airport, mail centres, 250 post offices, the China Ferry Terminal and Macau Ferry Terminal.

At these facilities, EMSTF is responsible for specialist equipment such as the conveyer systems used by the Post Office, baggage handling systems and aerobridges installed at the airport, book detection systems in libraries, stage lighting systems, film projectors, and electronic score boards in recreation facilities and sports grounds. We also operated and maintained the Kwai Chung Incineration Plant with an average daily refuse throughput of 750 tonnes.
