機電工程署創科論壇
專家學者雲集 探究香港未來城市發展

為推動科技創新,提升香港競爭力以惠及市民,機電工程署將於11月舉辦「機電工程署創科論壇」,邀請來自世界各地的專家學者分享他們的經驗和研究成果,藉以幫助客戶部門和啟發業界的創新思維,並探究未來50年香港在機電工程方面的發展,務求把香港打造成世界級城市。

「創科論壇」定於11月17日假香港科學園舉行,是機電工程營運基金慶祝成立20周年的重點活動之一,發展局局長陳茂波先生將蒞臨擔任主禮嘉賓。

是次論壇的主題為「創構未來香港」,屆時會從樓宇、交通、能源、家居、健康生活及持續發展等不同範疇探討未來城市的最新發展,冀能啟發業界以創新科技改善未來生活,共同建設美好香港。我們邀請了多位海外及本地的專家、學者、政府官員,以及商會、環保組織及機電業代表等業界精英出席論壇,其中來自英國牛津大學的未來城市研究專家 Steve Rayner 教授,以及香港氣候變化論壇創辦人潘樂陶博士將擔任主講嘉賓,跟與會者分享經驗。除此之外,機電工程署署長陳帆先生也會與發展局副局長馬紹祥先生、環境局副局長陸恭蕙女士、運輸及房屋局副局長邱誠武先生、香港工程師學會會長蔡健鴻先生及香港機電工程商聯會會長莊堅烈先生一同探討香港未來50年的發展。

此外,我們會於11月18日舉行技術參觀活動,參加者可參觀港珠澳大橋於大嶼山的建築工地、啟德區域供冷系統或將軍澳新數據中心。

EMSD Summit – Imaginovate Hong Kong
Experts and Scholars Gather to
Explore Future City Development of Hong Kong


In an effort to promote technological innovations and to boost Hong Kong's competitiveness in order to benefit the general public, EMSD is organising the EMSD Summit – Imaginovate Hong Kong in the coming November. Experts and scholars from different parts of the world are invited to the forum to share their experience and fruits of research so as to aid our client departments and inspire innovation in E&M industry practitioners. Together, we will explore the development of Hong Kong in the electrical and mechanical engineering aspects in the next 50 years with the aim of transforming Hong Kong into a world-class city.

The EMSD Summit – Imaginovate Hong Kong, scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Science Park on 17 November 2016, is one of the key events to celebrate EMSTF’s 20th anniversary. The Secretary for Development, Mr. Paul Chan, is invited to officiate at the event.

Themed "Imaginovate Hong Kong", the forum looks at the latest development of future city from different perspectives including buildings, transportation, energy, home, healthy living and sustainable development, such that the industries would be inspired to improve future quality of living with innovative technology and build a better Hong Kong together. We have invited many local and overseas trade elites including consultants, scholars, government officials, and representatives from trade associations, environmental organisations and E&M industries to the forum. Among them, Prof Steve Rayner, an expert on future city from the University of Oxford, and Dr. Otto Poon, the founder of the Hong Kong Climate Change Forum, will be the keynote speakers to share their experience with participants. In addition, our Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr. Frank Chan, would convene a panel discussion with Under Secretary for Development, Mr. Eric Ma; Under Secretary for the Environment, Ms Christine Loh; Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr. S M Yau; President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Mr. Joseph Choi; and President of the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Limited, Mr. Paul Chong, to explore development of Hong Kong in the next 50 years.

Moreover, we are organising technical visits on 18 November 2016 that will take participants to the construction site of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on Lantau Island, Kai Tak District Cooling System or the new data centre in Tseung Kwan O.
