Six contracts under the supervision of the EMSD were commended with one Silver Award, two Bronze Awards and three Merit Awards under the 26th Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme jointly organised by the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council. These accolades not only recognised the achievements the relevant contractors have made with respect to aspects such as site safety and environmental management, but also reflected the effectiveness of our work on the promotion of occupational safety and health among our contractors. The six contracts were to provide maintenance and improvement works to various client departments, including the Drainage Services Department, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the Hospital Authority, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and the Tourism Commission. While the award presentation ceremony for public works awards was not held this year owing to the epidemic, Mr. Pang Yiu-hung, Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr. Cheung Yuen-fong, Deputy Director/Trading Services, and Mr. Wong Wai-kwong, Assistant Director/2 of the EMSD, visited six sites of client venues located across the territory to present the awards in person to the contractors and the supervising teams.
