The EMSD Technician Training Scheme 70th Anniversary Ceremony was successfully held at the EMSD HQs Building on 12 September 2025. The event brought together over 200 guests, including representatives from the Development Bureau, the Education Bureau and the Vocational Training Council, along with past and current trainees, to jointly review the Scheme’s remarkable seven-decade journey. The ceremony began with a video address by Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education, followed by a welcome speech from Mr Poon Kwok-ying, Raymond, Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services. The guests then toured the training facilities and joined a briefing by the trainees on the latest developments and applications of I&T in the EMSD.
Over the past 70 years, the Scheme has nurtured nearly 8000 E&M professionals who have served the EMSD and various organisations across the E&M sector. Inheriting professional skills and the spirit of service excellence, they apply innovative technologies to deliver outstanding and reliable E&M services to the community.
