Competent Person

Competent Person The Gas Safety (Gas Supply) Regulations and the Gas Safety (Gasholders) Regulations respectively stipulate that owners of LPG installations and gasholders shall maintain and operate the installations in a safe condition and shall ensure that the installations are inspected periodically by competent persons. In this connection, Gas Standards Office has enlisted the following classes of competent persons for carrying out such works relating to LPG installations and gasholders.

Who Should Apply

Any person who wishes to carry out such works as required under the Regulations relating to LPG installations and gasholders shall apply to the Gas Authority, i.e. the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services for enlistment.

How to Apply

Application to become a competent person shall be submitted, in writing to the Gas Authority by hand or by mail including relevant information to the Gas Standards Office, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
