There is no doubt that we are in the cyber age, enjoying more and more of the associated benefits, at work and at leisure. The lead story of this issue gives a lively example of how the newly introduced EMSTF e-Portal makes our job easier and more pleasant. Meanwhile, we also explore how we fight computer viruses that may cripple our email system.

EMSD's scope of work goes far and wide, encompassing land, sea and air transport systems. Our recent contracts include maintaining a car fleet, setting up a ship simulator, and maintaining a baggage handling system at the airport. We are also concerned with air quality, and have tested the effectiveness of a portable air filter system in a hospital, as well as helped government departments gain indoor air quality certification.
