ISO 9001: 2000 and Integrated Management System
In August 2002 it was congratulations all round, not only because all nine of our Strategic Business Units (SBUs) gained their ISO 9001:2000 upgrade certification (almost two months ahead of schedule), but also because we became one of the few organisations in Hong Kong to integrate our three management systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, under a single Integrated Management System (IMS). IMS moves away from the individual system approach to "Quality", "Environment" and "Occupational Health & Safety", focusing on a process approach that brings greater synergy to our activities. This means less duplication, less resource requirements, less audit frequency, as well as improved work flow between the "three" systems.
