The EMSD proactively nurtures the young generation by participating in various programmes to provide learning opportunities for the youth to develop their potential in multiple areas. This year, we participated in the Internship Programme for Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) Students organised by the Civil Service Bureau, providing internship opportunities for NEC students. Caicedo Varas Carla Cristina, who is studying data science, was assigned to our Health Sector Division for an eight-week internship. During her internship, Cristina was involved in the research and development of ChillStream®️, and assisted in writing programmes for the Energy Data Management System. Through the internship opportunity, Cristina not only gained an understanding of the daily work of the EMSD, but also learned about the application of I&T by participating in the E&M I&T Day 2024.
It is heartening to see the enthusiasm for I&T among the young people. We hope to offer opportunities for students to apply the acquired knowledge and meanwhile gain valuable and practical work experience through the above internship programme.
