In Brief

Director of Fire Services, Mr Kwok Jing-keung (Left 4) signed the 10-Year Service Level Agreement with EMSTF at the ceremony.

The Fire Services Department (FSD) and EMSTF signed a 10-Year Service Level Agreement on 16 May 2006. The simple but solemn signing ceremony not only symbolises the further consolidation of a long-term partnership, but also stands witness to the trust accorded by the client to the department.

The new agreement covers diversified service areas. These include maintenance services for several categories of equipment/vehicles: electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment, air-conditioning systems, building services installations; ambulances and non-ambulance vehicles (plus vehicle collection and delivery), in-ambulance oxygen systems and fleet management systems. Apart from provision of maintenance services, a series of value-added services are also being offered, such as assessment of vehicles for replacement, planning and disposition of in-ambulance electronic systems and review of occupational safety measures.

Both the FSD and EMSTF are missioned to serve the Hong Kong public: the FSD is dedicated to protect Hong Kong citizens' lives and properties from fire and other perils, whilst the EMSTF strives to provide customers and the public with total engineering solutions and service excellence. Both departments are confident that the new service agreement will significantly enhance the quality of their service, enabling them to better fulfil their respective missions. The single goal is to build Hong Kong into a secure and peaceful place where our citizens can work and live in content, and ultimately promoting the quality of life of the entire community.
