This year marks EMSD’s 60th anniversary. The past sixty years witnessed the growth of EMSD, through continuous improvements and organisational alignment to meet changing community needs, into a government department that prides itself on providing diversified and high value-added E&M engineering services to clients and regulatory services with regard to E&M and gas safety.

This issue highlights some of our latest initiatives: the E&M System Replacement Prioritisation Model that reduces risks, our innovative Mobile CCTV System for traffic surveillance; full support given to customers in their energy saving works and during the Olympic Torch Relay in Hong Kong on 2 May. These demonstrate our determination to do better and serve the people of Hong Kong. We shall continue to move with the times, and keep innovating, to create a better living environment for Hong Kong.
