The EMSD made its debut at this year’s Hong Kong Book Fair from 16 to 22 July, with its booth themed “E&M Journey: Let’s Go!”. Through a fun and engaging approach, the EMSD sought to deepen public understanding of the Department and arouse interest in E&M engineering among the younger generation, attracting them to explore future career opportunities in the E&M industry. On the first day of the event, Mr Poon Kwok-ying, Raymond, Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, joined the E&M Young Ambassadors in experiencing the booth games to kick off the exhibition.
The exhibition booth featured three interactive games respectively designed to disseminate knowledge on E&M safety, energy saving and carbon emission reduction, and application of innovative technologies to the public. Among them, the remote control game featuring the ball type rolling robot, the gold award-winning project at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, was a huge hit drawing enthusiastic participation from both adults and children eager to explore the latest E&M technologies. The EMSD mascot, Witty Bear, also made appearances at the book fair, posing for photos with children and sharing joyful moments with visitors at the venue.
The six-day exhibition “E&M Journey: Let’s Go!” attracted over 7000 members of the public, offering a delightful E&M experience for all ages.
