Ceiling Prices of Auto-LPG for Dedicated LPG Filling Stations

SEB offers free maintenance service for ROWENTA dehumidifier
SEB Asia Ltd. (SEB) announced a voluntary free maintenance service on one model of "ROWENTA" dehumidifier (Model No.: DH 3020 with week codes 0108, 1108, 1908 and 3108) supplied between March 2008 and January 2009. According to SEB's information, the internal motor starting capacitor may have overheating problem during prolonged operation of the dehumidifier, posing a potential risk of electric short circuit.
Consumers, who are in possession of the dehumidifiers, are advised to stop using them and immediately contact SEB to arrange for the free maintenance service. Grace period for Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme will end on 8 November 2009
The grace period for the mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme will end on 8 November 2009. Upon expiry of the grace period, all prescribed products for supply in Hong Kong are required to be listed models with reference numbers and bear specified energy labels. Any person who contravenes such requirement commits an offence under the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance, Cap. 598., Please click here for details.

Recall of a Batch of Power Adaptors
Philips Electronics Hong Kong Limited announced a recall of a batch of two models of power adaptor for Philips portable DVD player and Photoframe. These power adaptors are of DVE make, models DSA-9W-09FUK 090100 and DSA-9W-05FUK 050150, embossed with week code from 3107 to 5307 (manufactured in 2007) and 0108 to 4308 (manufactured in 2008). According to Philips¡¦ information, detachment might occur at the welded joint between the back cover and housing of the adaptor when it was pulled out from a wall socket outlet. Live parts of the adaptor were exposed, posing electrical hazard to user. Consumers are advised to stop using this batch of adaptors and contact Philips Electronics Hong Kong Ltd. for direct replacement as soon as possible. SANYO Electric (Hong Kong) Ltd. announced a voluntary free preventive maintenance services on 4 models of "SANYO" washing machine (Model Nos.: ASW-F100AT, ASW-F95AT, ASW-F98AP and ASW-F95AP) supplied between June 2007 and January 2009. According to SANYO's information, the internal motor power cables of these washing machines may be damaged after prolonged usage, posing a potential risk of electric short circuit.
Consumers, who are in possession of the washing machines, are advised to stop using them and immediately contact SANYO to arrange for the free preventive maintenance services. Parking Meter User Satisfaction Survey
Transport Department and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will jointly conduct a Parking Meter User Satisfaction Survey during the period from 9 to 16 November 2008. The objectives of the interview survey are to find out the users¡¦ satisfaction towards the existing parking meter system and their views on area of improvement. Some metered parking spaces located in Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po, Hung Hom, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon City, Tsz Wan Shan, Sheung Shui, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long and Sai Kung have been sampled for conducing the survey. Parking meter users will be selected at random for the interview. All information collected from the survey will be kept strictly confidential.

The Launching Ceremony of the Hong Kong Fuel Economy Run for Private Cars (HK ECO-DRIVERS), organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, was held at the Lung Cheung Mall, Wong Tai Sin today (30 September). The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department has published "Hong Kong Energy End-use Data 2008 " which provide information on the consumption data of the different energy fuel types and the specific purposes for which these fuels are consumed, e.g. space-conditioning, lighting, cooking, etc. The data provide a better understanding of energy consumption pattern and usage in Hong Kong.
