Promoting the Utilisation of Innovation and Technology among the Trade

To promote the utilisation of I&T among the trade to comprehensively ensure electrical safety, we have established a working group to review the Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations. The working group examined the latest international safety standards, current industry practices and innovative technologies, and proposed amendment recommendations. At the same time, specialised task forces comprised of trade representatives were formed under the working group, focusing on arc fault detection devices, battery energy storage systems and smart switchboards. These task forces collected opinions and put forth revision proposals, thereby promoting I&T development. Furthermore, we have been actively encouraging power companies to adopt I&T in their operations. Examples include the Hongkong Electric Company Limited’s “Intelligent Steward” robot and energy storage truck, and the CLP Power Hong Kong Limited’s AI smart management system (Grid-V). These initiatives aim to enhance power supply safety, reliability and emergency response capabilities.
