During the year, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) continued to strengthen collaboration with Mainland authorities. In December 2024, we signed the Co-operation Arrangement on Quality and Safety Management (Co-operation Arrangement) with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), under which multiple working groups were established to initiate co-operation and exchange in areas such as gas safety, mechanical installations safety, electrical products safety, energy efficiency marking and labelling, standards and metrology, jointly advancing safety supervision and quality management in both places. In addition to actively promoting cross-boundary collaboration, we carried out a number of regulatory tasks, fostered innovation and technology (I&T) development, and created more opportunities for international exchange throughout the year.
